Introduction

HALMA UK aims to visit the project centre in Uganda

annually and meet with the team that facilitates the

sponsorship programme.

Margaret visited in January 2025 and as well as

checking on the sponsorship programme fulfilled our

objective of the advancement of the Christian faith

by training Sunday School Teachers and leading one

day children’s events at 3 different churches.

Margaret was there for 2 Sundays and preached in

different churches on those days.

Training Sunday School Teachers

The training took place in 2 village locations as well as one location in town, which teachers from a variety of churches attended. The 1 day programme aimed to equip the teachers in their churches as well as for the upcoming children’s events. The training was well received and it was wonderful to see how much the teachers put their new skills into practice which they can continue to implement in their home churches. In all, 40-50 attended the training which included follow up of a child who has responded to the Gospel.

Children’s Day Events

Following the teacher training, the children’s events were held which were attended by more than 400 children. Children’s activities, games and bible teaching were centred around the theme ‘Living for Jesus’, based on Matthew 6:33 and Luke 10:27. The children participated very well in all the activities as can be seen from the photos and enjoyed the meal and drinks that were provided. The day ended with a presentation of the Gospel which over a 100 children responded to and were going to be followed up by those who

had been trained.

Sponsorship Programme

An important part of the visit is to confirm that the sponsorship programme is progressing as reported to us in the UK. This involves checking on administration and having meetings with the Ugandan team.

It is also my privilege and delight to visit the sponsored children in their homes and meet their families which was done over 2 days. All those I visited were very satisfied and appreciative of the sponsorship programme which enables children to have an education, develop spiritually and receive pastoral care.

Many thanks for taking time to read this and for all of your ongoing support. If you would like to be more involved either by sponsoring a child or volunteering with us, please contact us on our email address.

May God bless you abundantly,

Margaret
